Many of us grab "sugar-free" options, thinking we're doing our teeth a favour. Sugar Free = No Cavities,

The Good News: Some Sugar Substitutes Are Tooth-Friendly!

While many sugar-free products are acidic, some sugar substitutes actually help your teeth:

● Xylitol: This sugar alcohol is fantastic! Mouth bacteria can't digest it, so it doesn't cause acid. It can even help reduce bad bacteria and boost saliva, which protects enamel. Look for it in gum and mints.

● Erythritol: Similar to xylitol, it also helps reduce plaque and prevent cavities.

● Stevia: A natural, plant-based sweetener that doesn't cause tooth decay because bacteria can't turn it into acid.
