Straightening and correcting misaligned teeth often require the use of braces or aligners. Braces are metal frames and wires that are attached to the teeth and gradually tightened and straighten to pull the teeth into formation.
SureSmile® trays are a more modern approach to straightening teeth. Custom trays are fitted and formed to the individual’s mouth. Every two weeks or so, the trays are swapped out, and a new one is used.
The trays are virtually undetectable, whereas the braces are very obvious. Many patients prefer to use the Invisalign method because they are less noticeable while being used. They can also be removed for eating, while braces cannot be.
However, while the SureSmile® trays are great for straightening teeth, braces are more ideal for managing overbites and underbites, and for closing significant gaps.
