With the use of computer-aided design and machinery, professionals are now able to perform crowns in one appointment. A one visit crown requires a three-step process that can be done in a single appointment.
First, the dentist takes a digital impression of your teeth and gums using a digital device, the Cerec. Second, they use the scans to help design the restoration of the tooth, by forming the crown. Third, that crown design is manufacturing using 3D printing technology, which is then professionally installed over your tooth by the dentist.
The appointment may take just a couple hours, without the need for a pre-visit or prior consultation appointment.
